The Air Base No. 11, in Beja, receives from today and until the 14th of May, the international exercise Nato Tiger Meet 2021 (NTM2021), with the participation of 56 aircraft and eight flight squads “ Tiger ”, from Portugal, Greece, Holland, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, and NATO.
This year’s edition is the responsibility of Squadron 301 – “Jaguares” of the Portuguese Air Force, which was distinguished with the “Silver Tiger” trophy in the last edition of NTM, which took place in Mont-de-Marsan, France, in 2019.
The Air Force in partnership with the Portuguese Red Cross carried out 217 antigen tests to COVID-19 this week on Portuguese, Italian, and Dutch military personnel participating in # NTM2021, all of which were negative.
This was one of the measures implemented at Air Base No. 11, in Beja, to ensure that the exercise runs safely in the face of the current pandemic context. The military faces this challenge with determination and commitment to establish a safe environment for the development of air operations. In addition, segregated areas and prevention measures were defined in conjunction with the Directorate-General for Health.
Created by the NATO Tiger Association, this is an exercise that seeks to promote cooperation and solidarity between the NATO Air Force Flight Squadrons and Partnership for Peace Members, whose symbol is a “Tiger”, assuming a fundamental role in the preparation, training, and qualification of the participating forces.
You can follow the training missions and activities on the page dedicated to exercise NTM2021.
