Argentina approved the purchase of 10 UC-12B Huron aircraft and related services from the USA. The value of this acquisition is around US $ 16.6 million.
The aircraft, all formerly US Navy, is currently stored in the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (AZ).
The aircraft will be delivered in 2024. Once placed in-flight condition by the technical personnel of the 309th AMARG, the aircraft will be sent to a maintenance center where they will be reconditioned to adapt them to the requirements of the Argentine Air Force, especially with regard to the compliance with the Military Airworthiness Directives.
The contract will be financed under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, with full payment by June 2026, including crew training.
The Beechcraft C-12 Huron is the military designation for a series of twin-engine turboprop aircraft based on the Beechcraft Super King Air and Beechcraft 1900. The aircraft’s crew can consist of up to two people and has the capacity to carry up to 13 people. It has a length of 13 meters and a wingspan of 16 meters.
