Argentina is expected to produce 50 million tons of corn in the 2021/22 harvest, according to information from the
United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Grain Report bulletin. The volume is higher than the 47 million tonnes harvested in the 2020/21 season.
The area to be harvested should be 6.2 million hectares, higher than that recorded in the 2020/21 harvest, of 6.1 million hectares.
The consumption forecast by the attachés is estimated at 14.5 million tons of corn in 2021/22. The volume is above the 14 million tons demanded in the 2020/21 harvest.
Argentine corn exports were forecast at 35 million tons in the 2021/22 season, surpassing the 33.5 million tons shipped in the 2020/21 harvest.
