Joe Biden elected President of the United States

Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States – the 46th in the nation’s history.

CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC were the first media outlets to announce the Democratic candidate as the new President of the United States, followed by the Associated Press, Fox News, and The Guardian.

Donald Trump’s defeat was projected after the media announced that Biden had beaten the state of Pennsylvania, thus reaching the 273 major voters at the Electoral College, more than the 270 he needed. But the Democrat also overcame Trump in the popular vote – he was even the most voted presidential candidate ever.

Biden already reacted to the victory and said he felt “honored”. “I am honored and moved by the confidence that the American people have placed in me,” he said.

Joe Biden, 77, will occupy the White House after being vice president of Barack Obama between 2009 and 2017. With this victory, Senator Kamala Harris, 56, will be the first black woman elected vice president of the United States.
